Making Friends with Millie

Yesterday, Mom and I went over to Gran'mom's house, and when we got there, a new playmate was waiting for me! "Aunt" Barbara was visiting with her puppy, Millie, and Millie and I became best friends right from the start. After we were introduced, we played and chased each other all over the Big Back Yard. We also met Maggie, the big yellow dog who lives in the neighbor's house. And (yes, there's more!) we took a nice walk around the block. I like the bumpy sidewalk about half-way around. I think Millie does, too. Whew, we got very tired, so then we took a nice rest on Gran'mom's porch. Millie shared some of her toys with me, and I let her have some of my treats. When I got home last night, I was pooped. I slept really hard! I even slept in past our normal wake-up time this morning! Can't wait to go over and play again today!

Best Day Ever! (So Far…)

It's been a few days since my last entry, but it has been a busy week! The highlight of the weekend was a special trip to Grandmom's, where I played with the big blue ball. And then it broke. I swear I didn't do it. Here's the video that Mom made to prove it wasn't me. Have fun watching! I always do!

My, What a Big Yard This Is!

This past week was full of many new things. First, I learned how to sit on command. That one was easy. I get a treat when I sit on command, and those treats are tasty! I'm having a little trouble with Stay and Down and Come. We're working on it. I also enjoy climbing in the big, green chair in our backyard. But the big fun came on Sunday, when Mom took me over to Grandmom and Pa's house. My, what a big yard they have! I ran, and ran, and ran like the wind! We played catch with the ball and Frisbee, and I made sure I inspected every inch of the yard. I was so tired when we got back home, I went right to sleep. I can't wait to go back!

Hijacked by Charley The Cat!

Hello. I am Charley. Charley The Cat. The thing is sleeping, so I have taken over his blog. That is, until Mom finds out and shoos me away.

I have been Mom's cat for five years. Five blissful years of getting my way, Fancy Feast noms three times a day, and owning the house. Life was purrfect. I had Mom wrapped around my fluffy tail and trained so well.

Then... Oh, the humility. That thing entered the house. Copper The Dog took over my domain.

What on earth was Mom thinking?

I am banished. Banished, I tell you! I have the run of the house, yes. But I have to jump over what Mom refers to as a baby gate to enter the living room. What is this strange device? Does Mom think I need to shed some pounds? I am a tiny cat! But I respect the baby gate. It keeps Copper The Dog in the living room and away from me. Clearing the Baby Gate should be an Olympic sport. I am now quite good at it.

And speaking of the living room. Disgraceful. Odd, squeaky, noise-maker things of all shapes and sizes litter the once neat and tidy floor. Mom makes just as much noise as Copper The Dog does with them. I think Mom has completely lost her mind.

Copper The Dog goes outside a lot. He barks and runs around. I watch from the window with mild amusement. It's safe there in the window.

Mom says Copper The Dog wants to be friends. I am not buying it. Instead, I am plotting my revenge. Copper had better watch his tail and his nose because I am going to take back control one of these days. And maybe we will eventually become friends.

But not today.

Going to the Vet on a Rainy Day

Yesterday was another big day! First, it was my birthday ~ I was nine weeks old! Then, I made my first trip to the vet with Mom (and Granmom). It was pouring down rain as we drove to the vet. When we got there, we saw a big boxer named Daisy and two little English Springer Spaniels that made a lot of noise even though they were tiny. I got two big shots, too. I didn't like that very much. One shot was to microchip me in case I ever got lost, they would know who my real Mom is and they can get me home! I got a clean bill of health ~ hooray ~ and I weigh 17.1 pounds! I slept a lot yesterday, but today, I made up for lost time and played hard. I just got finished moving the furniture around in the living room (my bed) and spending some time trying to make friends with Charley The Cat. She's getting braver but still not ready to play!

Mom and me at the vet! I'm tired!

Ever get the feeling you were being watched?
